Keith Howard Hoffer
May 31, 1929 ~ February 6, 2012
Of Phoenix, Arizona, received his complete healing on February 6, 2012, and has claimed his eternal home. He was born on May 31, 1929 to Eugene and Sophia Hoffer of Embarrass, Minnesota who along with his brothers, Eugene (Jeanne) and Jon have preceded him in death. He is survived by Vicki, his loving wife of 56 years, as well as children, Vicki (Ivan) Boyer, Linda (Clark) Leiphart, Cheryl (Steven) Larson and Mark (Alice) Hoffer. Also surviving are grandchildren: of Vicki – Darren, Kimberly, Mark and David; of Linda-Aneesa Erinn and Andrea Mia; of Cheryl-Emily (James) Caro, Elliotte, and Danielle; of Mark-Trent, Nate and Sophie. There is one great-grandchild, Kaida. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Richard) Anderson of Longmont, Colorado, & sister-in-law Jan Hoffer.
Keith graduated from Embarrass High School in the class of 1948. He is a veteran, having served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After the war Keith returned to northern Minnesota where he planned to fly float planes into the BWCA. However, the closing of the Canoe Area in the early 1950’s meant a change in plans.
Keith went to work in the iron mines on the Mesabi Iron Range near Virginia, Minnesota and played drums in a polka band that played at weddings and other events around the Arrowhead area of Minnesota.
In 1963 Keith moved his young family to Minneapolis beginning a long career in the automotive industry. Keith filled many positions in the industry. He enjoyed many years as a computer installer and educator for the automotive field. Keith and Vicki retired in 1993 and split their time between Lake Ada and Arizona.
Services
A celebration of life will be held February 25, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at REDEEMER COVENANT CHURCH (7801 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, 763-561-8769). The Hoffer family invites all to join them following the service for a time of fellowship and refreshment at the church. Interment will be private and at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or Redeemer Covenant Church.
