Peter Roman
August 23rd, 1925 ~ February 4th, 2012
age 86, of Columbia Heights. Preceded by parents: Peter and Mary, siblings: Helen, Ann, Irene and William. Survived by devoted wife Dolores (Dolly), sons: Stephen (Ann), Michael (Diane) and Martin (Maria), daughters: Barb Kondrick (Stephen) and Natalie Nelson (Scott), nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Pete grew up in NE Mpls. and helped run the family store (Located at 2401 University Ave. NE). He graduated from Edison High School and the University of Minnesota. He proudly served during WW II, first in the Air Force and then in the Army. He was stationed both in the Philippines and Korea. He began his professional career teaching English and Russian at Forest Lake High School. He later worked for Honeywell in the technical writing division. Pete was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral. He served as an altar boy, was a member of the choir for many years and served on numerous committees. He was a member of the Minneapolis Aqua Jesters and entertained Aquatennial parade attendees and hospital-bound individuals. Pete and Dolly were blessed with loving family members and a large group of friends. They were avid travelers and loved to play bridge and dominoes. Pete was devoted to his family. He possessed a great sense of humor. Always humble, he lived by high moral standards and exhibited integrity in everything he did.
Services
Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL 1918 University Ave. NE Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with Parastas at 6:30 PM. Funeral service at ST. MARY’S ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL 17th Ave. NE & 5th St. Wednesday at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior.
Interment
Interment St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery.
